    Welcome

Welcome to Our Lady of Compassion Catholic Primary School and Nursery

I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher at such a great school where children, staff, governors and parents work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another.  The wonderful team at Our Lady of Compassion is committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning, achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise to ensure that all students reach their full potential.

    Why Choose Us?

  • All Saints have a love for others

Through social action and charity, we can work together to really make a difference, be that locally or globally. Based on the perfect example of Jesus Christ, we aim to collaborate, within our family of schools and local parishes to show a love for all our neighbours. Through our curriculums and the special ethos fostered across all of our schools we aim to develop a spirit of tolerance, open-mindedness and an understanding of the lives and cultures of those around us.

  • All Saints use their gifts wisely

Every child is special and every child has been gifted a unique set of skills and talents by God our Father. From the moment children join the Our Lady and All Saints Family, we aim to nurture and grow their many God given talents; along with providing a range of stimulating and varied experiences to encourage them to develop further interests and passions. Across our multi-academy we aim to develop a culture of aspiration and ambition; where every child receives the same opportunities today, so that they have the same life chances and choices in the future.

  • All Saints are servants of Christ

All students in Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi-Academy Company are encouraged to ask: 'Who is God calling me to be?' Through the strong teaching of religious education; the joyous celebration of our Catholic life and the provision of high quality, reflective collective worship opportunities, we offer everyone the chance to consider their vocation and how best to develop and use their faith for the good of others and to worship Christ. We want everyone within our family of schools to be 'Strong in Faith' considering the example of Our Lady - the 'Handmaid of the Lord' who, in saying yes to God, showed us that we too are able to discover the path of holiness and to authentic spirituality as we become servants of the Lord.

  • All Saints are risk takers

We want all students to leave us with self-confidence and a strong belief in their abilities. From the very start and throughout their education, confidence is nurtured through outdoor learning; exciting trips aligned to curriculum expectations; residential retreats; the development of public speaking and performance and the opportunity to develop through the arts, through sport and through the competent use of up to date computing resources.

  • All Saints have a love for the world around them

Young people are incredibly passionate about caring for the world around them. We aim to build on this passion through developing pupil voice and providing real opportunities through Catholic Social Action and teaching. We provide examples of democracy in practice; a deep understanding of the Right of the Child; of fair trade; current global issues and promoting the celebration of difference.

  • What Our People Say...

  • “OLC has encouraged our children every step of the way. Their confidence has grown and grown throughout the years with the support of their wonderful teachers and other members of staff. Both myself and my partner would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you at OLC for all your hard work and support along the way with our children. They take with them wonderful memories of all the fantastic experiences they have had at OLC. We will be sad to leave you all, and thank you for all the qualities you have instilled in them."

  • “Our son is enthusiastic about school and skips out the door in the mornings. I can assure you this is not because of his passion for long division...! But it IS because of the 'people' who create the environment and culture in which he feels safe and secure in expressing himself without the fear of failure. Thank you all for your efforts from the lollipop lady, the secretary staff, the Footsteps staff who consistently have fantastic energy around the school, the other parents who go above and beyond in supporting staff with school events such as pupil discos, Christmas collections (and more) and everyone else at OLC who simply cares. We are truly grateful and thankful”.

  • “We are delighted with the progress and how well our child has settled into school life at OLC. His teachers have been fantastic this academic year, and it is so heart-warming to see how much he loves school. During the school holidays he is always asking when it’s time to go back to school. I am impressed by how Catholic life is taught and practised within the school right from the beginning, which is brilliant. Thank you to all the staff! You do an amazing job. My youngest child can’t wait to attend next year.”
