At Our Lady of Compassion, we value the important partnership between home, school and parish in nurturing children's faith. One of the ways we support this relationship is through The Wednesday Word.
The Wednesday Word is a weekly Gospel resource that enables families to share and reflect on God's Word together at home.
Through The Wednesday Word, families can:
- Explore the upcoming Sunday Gospel together each week.
- Reflect on how the teachings of Jesus can be applied to everyday life.
- Deepen their understanding of Scripture through age-appropriate activities and discussion points.
- Encourage faith conversations between children, parents and carers.
- Strengthen the connection between home, school and parish life.
- Spend quality time together reflecting on Gospel values and Christian living.
- Develop a greater appreciation of the Church's liturgical year and weekly Gospel message.
- The resource includes the Sunday Gospel, prayers, questions for reflection and practical ways to live out the Gospel message.
- It provides a simple and accessible way for families to engage with Scripture, regardless of their previous experience.
