Welcome to Our Lady of Compassion Catholic Primary School and Nursery

It is a privilege to serve as Headteacher of Our Lady of Compassion, a school I am incredibly proud to lead. Our school community is built on strong relationships, shared values and a collective commitment to ensuring every child flourishes academically, spiritually and personally.

At the heart of our success are our children, supported by a dedicated team of staff, engaged governors, supportive families and a wider community that works together to provide the very best opportunities for every pupil. We have high expectations for all members of our school community, and we believe that children achieve their best when they are challenged, encouraged and nurtured in a caring and supportive environment.

As a Catholic school, our mission statement, "To live as Jesus taught us," underpins everything we do. The Gospel values guide our daily interactions and help us to develop children who are compassionate, respectful and responsible members of society. We strive to ensure that every child feels valued, known and loved, and that they develop a strong sense of belonging within our school family.

Our Lady of Compassion is a welcoming and inclusive school where every child is encouraged to discover their talents, develop confidence and foster a lifelong love of learning. We are proud to offer a broad, ambitious and engaging curriculum that provides rich experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Alongside this wider curriculum, we place great importance on developing strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, ensuring children are well-prepared for each stage of their educational journey.

We want our pupils to leave Our Lady of Compassion as confident, resilient and independent learners who are ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future. Most importantly, we hope they leave with a strong moral compass, a sense of service to others and memories of a happy and fulfilling primary school experience.
