Anti-bullying and Special Friend Ambassadors
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors (KS2) and Special Friends (FS/KS1) have developed into a dedicated Pupil Leadership Team focused on promoting kindness, respect, and inclusion across the school.
Each class from FS1 (Nursery) to Year 6 selects two representatives to join the team. To be elected, pupils prepare and deliver a short speech to their classmates, explaining why they would make a positive and supportive leader. Every child in the school has a vote, ensuring the process is fair and democratic.
What do Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and Special Friends do?
- Champion kindness and respect: They help create a safe and welcoming environment by promoting positive behaviour and supporting our anti-bullying ethos.
- Provide peer support: Special Friends in FS/KS1 assist younger pupils during playtimes and transitions, helping them feel included and happy.
- Raise awareness: Ambassadors in KS2 lead campaigns, assemblies, and activities to educate others about friendship, empathy, and how to prevent bullying.
- Act as role models: They demonstrate the school’s values in their everyday actions, encouraging others to do the same.
- Work with staff: They share pupil concerns and ideas during regular meetings, helping to shape strategies for wellbeing and inclusion.
- Lead initiatives: From organising themed days to creating posters and resources, they take an active role in making the school a positive place for everyone.
This leadership team plays a vital role in ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and supported, while developing confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility.
