    Who are the Mini Vinnies?

Mini Vinnies are young members of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), inspired by the life and work of St Vincent de Paul, who dedicated himself to helping those in need. They are children aged 7 to 11 who come together in schools and parishes across England, Wales, and many other countries to live out the values of compassion, kindness, and service.

As part of the SVP family, Mini Vinnies aim to make a real difference in their communities by following the simple but powerful motto:
    “See, Think, Do.”

    • See – Notice people who need help or support.
    • Think – Reflect on what can be done to make a positive change.
    • Do – Take action to show care and love in practical ways.

    What do Mini Vinnies do?

Mini Vinnies meet regularly to pray, discuss ideas, and plan actions that bring hope and joy to others. Their activities often include:

    • Spreading kindness: Writing cards or letters to children in hospital or people who are lonely.
    • Visiting care homes: Singing, playing games, and spending time with residents to brighten their day.
    • Helping the homeless: Knitting scarves, collecting warm clothing, or preparing care packages.
    • Supporting local charities: Organising food collections for foodbanks or fundraising for those in need.
    • Promoting social justice: Raising awareness about poverty and encouraging others to take action.

    Why is it important?

Mini Vinnies learn that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. They grow in faith, empathy, and leadership, becoming role models for their peers and living out the Gospel message of love and service.
