  • School Council

Our School Council has grown into a dynamic Pupil Leadership Team, giving children a real voice in shaping school life.

Each class from FS2 (Reception) to Year 6 elects two representatives to join the team. To be considered, pupils prepare and deliver a short speech to their classmates, explaining why they would make an effective pupil leader. Every child in the school has the opportunity to vote, ensuring the process is democratic and inclusive.

    What do Pupil Leaders do?

    • Represent their peers: They bring ideas, concerns, and suggestions from their class to regular School Council meetings.
    • Collaborate with staff: A link teacher supports the council and shares key points with the Head Teacher.
    • Drive improvement: Feedback and agreed actions are communicated back to classes after each meeting, so pupils see the impact of their voice.
    • Promote school values: They help model positive behaviour, encourage participation in school events, and lead initiatives that make the school a better place for everyone.

This team plays a vital role in ensuring pupils are actively involved in decision-making and school improvement, helping them develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility.
